Life can get busy sometimes and unforseen circumstances might lead to either teachers or students arriving late to a lesson or not arriving at all. Here are our policies regarding this.
If a teacher accepts a lesson request, they should do their best to show up on time and teach the lesson. If the teacher knows they are going to be late or absent, they should contact the student as soon as possible. If necessary, try to reschedule the lesson. See FAQ - Lesson Rescheduling. If the student does not agree with the proposed rescheduling, they can request a refund. See FAQ - Lesson Missed.
If a student books a lesson, they are responsible for paying the teacher. The timeslot they booked will be blocked in the teacher's calendar, so the teacher won't be able to receive another lesson request during that time.
If the student does not show up and has not let the teacher know that they are going to be late, the teacher is only required to wait for half of the lesson time. So for 30 minute lessons, the teacher should wait at least 15 minutes and for 60 (or 55) minute lessons, the teacher should wait at least 30 minutes. After this time the teacher can, but is not required to wait and has a right to get paid for the lesson.
If the student arrives late, the teacher only needs to teach them for the remainder of the lesson. They are not obligated to teach them beyond the end of the lesson time.
If the student and teacher can not agree on a solution, they can contact us and we will help resolve the issue. PolyTripper's decision is final. Please note that once a lesson has been marked as completed, either by the student or automatically, we will no longer be able to refund the student. See FAQ - Lesson Confirmation.
